Our client, a multinational agricultural company, is seeking a highly qualified operations manager to join their team. The ideal candidate should have strong operations, supply chain and logistics background. As the Operations Manager, you will lead production planning, safety protocols, and cost-saving strategies in a fast-growing company. In addition to managing internal operations, you will collaborate closely with other departments to plan and optimise external logistics, ensuring that all facilities function effectively and efficiently.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Manage daily operations across 120 hubs, ensuring smooth workflows and adherence to company
standards.
● Supervise and support a team of 300 employees, promoting a high-performance culture.
● Develop and refine SOPs to optimise hub operations and production effectiveness and efficiency.
● Collaborate with other departments to streamline logistics and ensure smooth commodity flow.
● Monitor production metrics and ensure alignment with operational targets.
● Forecast material requirements and coordinate procurement from suppliers.
● Oversee logistics to ensure timely delivery of goods to and from warehouses and hubs, and to clients.
● Develop strategies for expanding operations, including setting up new hubs and enhancing existing ones.
● Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and partners to ensure an effective and reliable supply chain.
● Ensure all operations adhere to the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
● Bachelor’s Degree in Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or a related
field. A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
● 7-10 years of experience in operations management, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial
role, preferably in the grain processing or agricultural sector.
● Knowledge of grain storage best practices and silo/warehouse management is an asset.
● Proven track record of managing multiple sites or large-scale operations in a fast-paced environment.
● Familiarity with health and safety regulations in the agricultural and industrial sectors.
● Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is a plus.
● Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
● Proficiency in inventory management systems and other relevant software.
● Have a license to operate a motorcycle in Ghana (or willingness to get one)
BENEFITS:
● Salary: Earn a salary between GHS20,000.00 and GHS25,000.00 (net) based on experience and qualifications.
